Some houses come back around

About five years ago, Jarrett helped her clients buy a home on N Allegheny Avenue. They got the keys, moved in, and did what people do after all the inspections, paperwork and excitement are over—they made a life there.

And then, as it tends to do, life moved along.

When it was time to sell Allegheny, they called Jarrett again.

We love that.

There’s something special about walking back into a house you remember from the beginning. The first time around, you’re helping someone picture themselves there. Where will the furniture go? What will mornings feel like? Could this be the one?

Then you come back years later and those questions have answers. The house has been lived in. There are memories attached to the rooms. What was once a possibility became home.

This time, Jarrett’s job was different. Instead of helping her clients get through the front door, she was there to help them close it behind them and send Allegheny on to its next people.

And really, that’s our favorite kind of real estate story.

As we’ve been looking back through years of Neighborhood Works sales, we’ve started noticing familiar addresses. Houses Jarrett has helped someone buy and later helped them sell. Clients who came back when life pointed them somewhere new. Occasionally, a house even finds its way back to Neighborhood Works through a completely different connection.

We’ve started calling them The Houses We Meet Again.

Because after enough years doing this work, you realize you’re not really collecting a list of sold houses.

You’re building relationships—and sometimes, if you’re lucky, you get invited back for the next part of the story.
